This week’s homework assignment was my favorite. Our assignment was to create a concept map on web spiration. Out of all the projects we have done so far, I think the concept map will be most useful to me as a future teacher. I am doing my Practicum hours this quarter in a 3rd grade resource room. The teacher I am observing has already had the students do two brainstorming activities using concept maps. I thinks concept maps are useful tools for teachers and student and it would fun and educational for students to create them on computer softwares.

Technology is stressing me out!!! I want to learn it so I can be an innovative teacher. However the way I am being taught it was killer!!!!!! Why do so many assignments need to be pushed into such a little time frame? I would never teach students new technology the way I was taught it. THANK GOODNESS Spring Quarter is almost over. My brain has been totally fried by this technology class.

YYEEAAHHH! M y last journal entry! I think I have cried and been more frustrated this quarter than any other time in my entire college career. I need to detoxify from this class. Although I have learned some valuable skills and knowledge in this technology class, it was not worth the high stress and frustration levels I endured while taking the class.

This week’s topic was chapter 5, Modeling with Technologies. This chapter focused on using an array Mind tools that students can use for studying or learning new concepts. Some examples of modeling tools include concept maps, dynamics tools, spreadsheets, and databases.
I definitely could see myself any using many of these modeling tools when I become a teacher. With spreadsheets students can learn how to make different kinds of charts for projects. Concept maps can be used as an online graphic organizer for students. Both of these tools also can help students gain new computers skills.

It provides many resources of how to use the internet in the classroom to interact with different kinds of communities around the world. Some examples of community building tools mentioned include wikis, blogs, user groups, and student community websites.
